The Book of Proverbs speaks extensively about our words. These scriptures include:
Proverbs 8:7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Proverbs 8:8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
This is not a comprehensive list, but it is my hope that you get the idea. Perhaps, the most recognizable of the Proverbs that Solomon penned conerning our words is...
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The word that this scripture turns on is “power”. I have heard this word defined as “authority”, but Strong’s Concondance defines it as “a hand (the open one (indicating power, means, direction, etc.).” As we look at this scripture again, we could use the term “direction” as in “Death and life are in the direction of your tongue.” You will go the way of your tongue. Your speech tells your direction. If you are positive, you will head in a positive direction. If you are negative, well, you will head in a negative direction. James wrote...
James 3:4-5 KJV
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Your speech can move the natural, but our speech can also move the supernatural. The Apostle Paul wrote...
2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Do you need something in your life? Are you suffering through a trial? Do you need deliverance?
It is time to speak life, but we must understand that to move the supernatural that it is more than just saying it. Our speech must be coupled with faith. Please take the time and read the following scripture...
Mark 9:17-29 KJV
And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
If you need a miracle, couple your faith and your speech. Speak you miracle into existence through prayer and fasting. Life is in the power of your tongue.
Have a great week!
