The Biblical doctrine of the oneness of God is found throughout the scripture and it important that we understand that Jesus is God....
John 8:24... for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
We understand from the Old Testament that God is one.
Deuteronomy 6:4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
It is so refreshing to see scriptures throughout the Word that confirm our beliefs and in reading today, I read this. John in writing in Revelation writes the words of Jesus (red letter)...
Revelations 1:8I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
In chapter 21, John is writing of God sitting upon the throne...
Revelations 21:4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelations 21:5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
It is the next scripture that really reveals the oneness of God...
Revelations 21:6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Revelations 21:7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
We need to understand that it is Jesus that sits on the throne...
Hosea 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
