I read a disturbing statistic.  Although, it does not surprise me since the churches reflect society in many ways.  The statistic is simply that 50% of all marriages in churches end in divorce.  I realize that this may seem like old news, but the church should be a healing place for the ills of society and not mirror it...

I John 4
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

Society will continue to reflect the effects of sin, but one thing that we can be sure of is that God does not parallel man's nature.  His nature is different then ours...

Isaiah 55
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

We should be thankful that God does not act or think as man does because His love never ceases.  He does not divorce us from His love and it His love that changes us while helping us to be overcomers.  We should thank God everyday for His love for Paul wrote to the Romans 8...

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Amplified Version says...

37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
