Although, I have my own political views, they are not brought into the pulpit. In light of yesterdays events, I do want to say a couple things.
We are first Christians and stand on the principles of scripture. The ideas of politicians and government are a distant second to the Biblical principles that are taught each Sunday in the pulpits across America.
We need to continue to live and preach the gospel...
1 Corinthians 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
We must continue to preach against sin. Please consider the following headlines...
"FBI examines pastor's sermons on abortion & homosexuality" (www.bpnews.net)
"Swedish Pastor Sentenced to Month in Prison for Preaching Against Homosexuality" (www.lifesitenews.com)
The ideas of our new government have the potential of being in line with many of the ideas of the liberal thinking of Europe. This can be dangerous to the doctrine of the Christian church. The first church faced down the government and preached the doctrine..
Acts 5:27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
Acts 5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
Please pray for our country...
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
